May has been a big month! Bray Van Volkmann was highlighted in the July 2014 issue of Guitar World, and we were invited to play on the big stage. For a young Wichita band, 2PK has been fortunate enough to play some great venues. Last Saturday was one of our favorite experiences. Every Sunday, we work with a some other young musicians: Skylines The Band. It is a 9 piece band complete with guitars, bass, drums, piano, and even a horn section! We do everything from jazz to blues.
Going back to Saturday night…what a night! The Murdock Theater has a nostalgic feeling. We have dreamed about playing on stages like this. Its ornate architecture surrounds the stage. Michael Peltzer and Jenny Wood, the newest member of GOODING, invited Skylines The Band to open up for them. As we watched them go through their sound check, it was really cool to see the dynamics of GOODING (Wichita Band that moved to LA) with their sound crew. The sound crew ran an impeccable check. They were some of the nicest guys, and we could go on and on about the equipment and technology they use!
One of the songs we did as Skylines The Band:
There was an eclectic crowd that night for the variety of Wichita Bands lined up for entertaining.
We preformed before Aaron Lee Martin took the stage. He’s one of the best song writers in Wichita. He did a 45 minute set that was folk influenced. Aaron has a raw energy about him that comes out as pure passion when he sings. His music reminds us of our song by Sawmill Joe, Ain’t Nobody’s Problem. We put the lyrics to Ain’t Nobody’s Problem at the bottom.
2Pk at Oeno’s Wine Bar Covering Saw Mill Joe ‘s Song:
This Wichita band lost to the LA music charm was missed dearly by their fans at home.
GOODING surprised their fans by filming a music video with us all. By the time GOODING hit the stage, the full house at Murdock was buzzing with excitement
Not a bad evening… not a bad evening at all. It will be one we always cherish. Thanks to Michale Peltzer and GOODING for making a dream for a young Wichita Band a reality!

LYRICS to Ain’t Nobody’s Problem (Sawmill Joe, Lumineers Cover)
Well, I ain’t nobody’s problem but my own
Said I, I ain’t nobody’s problem but my own
Said I, ain’t nobody’s issue, don’t you come around babe ’cause I don’t miss you at all
I ain’t nobody’s problem but my own
Well I found myself a place
Every smile that you waste
And every other careless look you’ve ever tossed aside
Well in my heart I know it’s true
That I can’t go on loving you
And that’s the truth
It don’t feel good, but honey it feels right
‘Cause, I ain’t nobody’s problem but my own
Said I, I ain’t nobody’s problem but my own
Said I, ain’t nobody’s issue, don’t you come around babe ’cause I don’t miss you at all
I ain’t nobody’s problem but my own
Well of love I’ve had my share I’ve got plenty of people really who care
At times I might get wicked in my pride
But I smoke that mountain air honey I’ve been here, and I’ve been there
At times I might get lonely honey I don’t cry
‘Cause, I ain’t nobody’s problem but my own
Said I, I ain’t nobody’s problem but my own
Said I, ain’t nobody’s issue, don’t you come around babe ’cause I don’t miss you at all
I ain’t nobody’s problem but my own
There’s times at night when it’s cold outside, the moon don’t shine, the winds are crying,
I wonder if you’re at home you might let me back inside
We can huddle up by the old stove we can kindle up some burned out coals
We can love our selves like the days are warm
But, No no no no no
‘Cause, I ain’t nobody’s problem but my own
Said I, I ain’t nobody’s problem but my own
Said I, ain’t nobody’s issue, don’t you come around babe ’cause I don’t miss you at all
I ain’t nobody’s problem but my own
Well, I ain’t nobody’s problem but my own
Said I, I ain’t nobody’s problem but my own
Said I, ain’t nobody’s issue, don’t you come around babe ’cause I don’t miss you at all
I ain’t nobody’s problem but my own
